OMG This is my ship right here.
I love the Luna and Harry ship and was so heartbroken when I read the Epilogue. Basically, I disregard the Epilogue. As far as I am concerned, Luna Lovegood is Harry Potter’s perfect match.
I like her because of so many reasons. One, she never doubted Harry. She believed in him and trusted him completely. Even Hermione had her moments when she was like, “Umm, Harry, are you okay?” But Luna, she knew.
She knew him for a year and she was willing to help him save his godfather from VOLDEMORT. Like, people he’d known for years wouldn’t have done that. When people doubted that he had seen Voldemort, she didn’t. She knew what it was like to be outcast and could subdue his anger.
She got along with Harry. She understood him. And it was so fast too! She bonded with him about the important things and supported him in things that simply made him happy. From problems with his friendships to Quidditch, Luna supported him.  When he was feeling all low she was like, “well, aren’t people allowed to have some low days?” She could relate to his pains.
She was Kidnapped for supporting Harry yet, she didn’t blame Harry in any way shape or form which shows that she is slightly better than Ron because Ron made Harry feel terrible about the whole situation with Voldemort. Luna accepted it and was just happy to see Harry and delighted that he cared.
She knew him as “Just Harry.” Ron was constantly pulling that whole “You’re Harry freaking Potter and I’m just your loser friend” stuff, Hermione was always riding him about being better than what he was which is good (to an extent though) except that she couldn’t find a way to really get through to him. And His other friends always saw him as whatever suited them, “The boy who lived, The Harry Potter, the Liar, the savior, etc.” Luna, even at the very end, when Voldemort was gone and everyone was up in Harry’s face, she knew that he was a person and sometimes, people just need quiet.
Luna is not just an “anti-hermione” in my eyes but rather, the needed core for Harry. Where Harry needs knowledge, she has it. When Harry needs peace, she creates it. When Harry needs happiness she provides it. When he needs a hand to hold, she grips it. When Harry is alone, she gives comfort. When he needs someone to go to a dance with, she is happy to go even as a last resort.
I have decided that as Harry is a Gryffindor (red) and Luna Ravenclaw (blue) their couple color is purple which is perfect.
Purple meaning: “Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.
Put some violet in your life when you want:
to use your imagination to its fullest
to re-balance your life
to remove obstacles
to calm overactivity or to energize from depression”
I don’t know how much more perfect this could explain the Relationship between Harry and Luna.
